Meaningful Experience

Generally, I don’t have many experiments in my life, but recently I have begun an exciting one, which is studying abroad. As soon as I graduated from KFU university in 2009, the idea of studying abroad  popped into my head. In fact, I had faced many problems before I came to the United States, yet I was able to overcome them. First, it took me a year to convince my family to accept this idea. Second, the process of issuing my father’s visa took 9 months, so I had to request a new I-20 six times! Finally, after these and other problems had ended, I arrived to Denver ,where my meaningful experience has started.
Actually, although I like this experience, I can’t write a lot about it  because I think this is just the beginning. However, since I came to the United States in April, I feel that many things in my life have changed. Not only my life but also my personality ,and my view of life and people.  I don’t know why, but whenever I think of the troubles that I passed, I remember the first day in my current school when my adviser said to me “ Thank you Fatemah,  you are so patient “.

  1. I concur with you Fatimah. Such a decision is very hard to make, but hopefully it will be the best for the upcoming days. I can say that I had the same barricade that required me a strong jump to reach the goal.

I am sure that you made a perfect choice and god will help you.

    Best wishes,

  4. It sounds like you've had a lot of hurdles to jump. You had to request a new I-20 SIX times?! I'm sure your hard work and perseverance will pay off. I think you are right; being in a new culture and learning a new language changes you a lot! Thanks for your post.
