Many people think that students should be under
pressure to learn in a better way. Actually, I was shocked to know that some
teachers think if they overwhelm their students, that makes them more
professional in teaching!. I don't understand what the students could gain from
being stressful all the time!. I agree that students need a little pressure but
not to squeeze them.
In the university, I had a subject that was
really easy, but the professor was so mean that he was trying to make it as
hard as he could. He gave us millions of homework and lots of quizzes ,yet that
wasn’t a problem. The problem was that he thought that no one should takes a
full mark, and just few students can take an (A) because we are in a university
not school !. Therefore, his tests was so long with very short time, and if we
answered the half of any question, we will not get any mark on that question,
just Zer0, even if he could see that we understood that question but didn’t
have enough time to finish it. Honestly, I hated him, his class, the subject, studying,
and I was thinking of leaving the university because I went back home crying
after his classes. Although I had a high GPA, and I never failed any class, I
thought I will fail that class. Eventually, I passed that class with C, but I
was delighted that I will not see that person again.
I don’t have any problems with studying
anything, no matter how much hard and stress it is, but I have a serious problem
with psychological pressure that caused by some teachers because of their weird
ideas.
Fatimah,
ReplyDeleteI can understand that feeling when someone is putting a lot of pressures to do any activity. Sometimes I think about it as a challenge to me and I have to show everyone how brave I am to accept this; however, I have to be careful not to lose everything totally.
I really like your post. Best wishes,

I agree that teacher should not try to overwhelm students. I had similar teachers in high school! I think we want to encourage students to work well under pressure, but maybe sometimes we go overboard. I hope I never do that.
